How Our Service Works

Start with the service you ordered. Our oil paintings are physical artworks painted by hand on canvas. Our photo merge designs are digital compositions, with digital files and selected print options available on the relevant listings.

How to commission a hand-painted oil painting

1. Choose your subject and canvas size

Explore our custom oil paintings and choose the listing that matches your subject. Select a size suitable for the number of figures and the space where the painting will hang. Check whether the selected canvas arrives stretched or rolled.

2. Select your payment option and share your photos

Choose Pay in Full or Pay Deposit where offered. A deposit starts the commission and is not the total price; the remaining balance is due before dispatch. Upload clear reference photos and explain the people, setting, and details to include. For a composition combining separate photos, identify each subject and the preferred arrangement.

3. Confirm the composition

We discuss your references and requested changes before painting begins. Tell us about a gift date at the start, and confirm any special composition or background requests. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure whether your photos will work.

4. Your artist paints the canvas

A professional artist creates your original painting by hand using oil paint on canvas. Estimated painting production is approximately 10 days. Detailed compositions and time-sensitive orders require individual confirmation. This estimate is for painting completion, not delivery.

5. Review the finished artwork

We send detailed photographs of the completed oil painting before shipping. Review them against the agreed composition and share any questions before dispatch.

6. Receive your painting

After approval and payment of any remaining balance, your painting is securely packed for shipping. U.S. express shipping is estimated at 3–6 business days after dispatch; U.S. import duties and customs charges are covered under our DDP arrangements. Contact us before placing an order for delivery outside the United States. See our shipping policy for details.

How to order a photo merge design or print

The illustrated instructions below apply to our photo merge listings. Keep using these steps for digital designs and the canvas or poster print options offered with them. A printed design is different from an original hand-painted oil painting.

3. Choose Your Delivery Type

4. Upload Photos

Under the "Upload a Photo" section, click the "Choose Photos" button to upload the photos to be used in the design. Please only upload the photos you want to be used in the design and avoid uploading alternative photos (e.g., multiple photos of the same person). If we determine that any of the photos are unsuitable for the design, we will contact you promptly, so no worries.

5. Provide Descriptions

Once your photos are uploaded, text fields will appear for you to provide descriptions. Here, you can specify which individuals in the uploaded photos should be included in the design (e.g., if you uploaded a group photo and only some people should be included) and share any specific requests or suggestions regarding the design (e.g., arrangement, layout, angel wings, halo, etc.). Providing these details will help us complete the design quickly and meet your expectations.

Photo Restoration

We offer services such as restoration, colorization, and enhancement using high-end equipment and professional staff. Even if your photos are old, damaged, faded, black-and-white, or somewhat pixelated, we can still work on them.

Choosing High-Quality Photos

However, please remember that the quality of the photos you send directly affects the quality of the design we create for you. Selecting the highest quality photos you can will ensure a smooth design process and a beautiful final result.

High-Quality Photos

Example

If you have an old, worn physical photo, rather than simply taking a picture of it with a phone camera, remove it from its frame and scan it using a scanner or a mobile app like Google’s PhotoScan. Sending us the scanned photo will be better for the design process.

Pose and Framing Considerations

Ideally, choose photos where the upper body (waist up) is included, and facial features are clearly visible. Avoid using selfies unless they are the only photos you have of the person, as they can be difficult to work with in a composition.

Pose and Framing

Cropped Photos

For portraits, we focus on facial features, so photos with only the head and shoulders visible are acceptable.

Cropped Photos

Excessively Pixelated or Damaged Photos

Photos where facial features are extremely unclear are not suitable for the design. However, if you still wish to include these individuals in the design for representation purposes, we can create a realistic drawing based on the light and shadows in the photo. Note that we cannot guarantee the accuracy of facial features in such cases, and there may be a small fee for this service.
